Cannabis Infused Longevity Noodles: An Ardent Collab

Cannabis Infused Longevity Noodles: An Ardent Collab

Happy Lunar New Year! I’m stoked to collaborate with my buds at Ardent on some new year’s recipes. I’ll be sharing how I use my Ardent FX to decarboxylate and activate THC in my cannabis before infusing in sesame oil.

Sesame oil is a staple in my pantry and I use it in many of my recipes. I’m also sharing a recipe for a holiday classic–Longevity Noodles. We eat Longevity Noodles for Chinese New Year because it symbolizes the key to a long life. It’s a quick and delicious dish to have on your dining table for special occasions and birthdays.

As I mentioned in a previous post, there are various ways to decarboxylate your cannabis but I love using my Ardent Nova because of its simplicity and ease. I’m stoked to retire it though for this new Ardent FX.

This incredible device activates 100% of THC in your flower at the touch of a button. Much like the sous vide method, it's odorless and mess-free. But with the new FX, you can decarb for CBD, infuse oils, and bake as well.

You can get the Ardent FX or Nova for $30 off with the code ‘SOUSWEED’

Sous Weed Sesame Oil
Makes 8 oz

Ingredients:
• 8 oz toasted sesame oil
• 4 g cannabis flower (you can add more or less depending on desired potency)

Directions:

  1. Place your cannabis flower in the Ardent FX and select A1 to activate THC.

  2. Pour sesame oil into a quart-sized freezer-safe zip bag*.

  3. Roughly crumble the decarboxylated cannabis and place into the bag of sesame oil. Push the air out and seal the bag completely.

  4. Set your sous vide water bath to 85ºC (185ºF) and submerge the bag in the water. Sous vide for 4 hours.

  5. Remove from water bath and strain out the solids. Discard the flower and allow the infused sesame oil to cool. Store in a cool dark place.

*You can also use a mason jar or silicone sous vide bags.

Cannabis-Infused Longevity Noodles
Serves 4

Ingredients:
• 10 oz thin Yi Mein (dried Longevity noodles)
• 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
• 1/4 tsp sugar
• 1/4 tsp kosher salt
• 2 Tbsp water
• 2 tsp soy sauce
• 2 tsp mushroom-flavored dark soy sauce
• 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
• 1 tsp Sous Weed sesame oil, see above recipe
• 1/4 tsp white pepper, freshly ground
• 3 Tbsp canola oil
• 4 shiitake mushrooms, thinly sliced
• 4 small bok choy, quartered
• Large handful of Chinese chives, cut into 2-inch pieces

Directions:

  1. Cook the noodles according to the directions on the package. Once it is al dente, drain the noodles and add a teaspoon of regular sesame oil. Gently toss with chopsticks to coat the noodles with oil so they don’t stick together. Set aside.

  2. In a small mixing bowl, add sugar, salt, water, soy sauce, mushroom-flavored dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, Sous Weed sesame oil, and white pepper. Mix well and set aside.

  3. Heat your wok over high heat with 2 Tbsp canola oil. Add shiitake mushrooms, bok choy, and Chinese chives and stir-fry for 30 seconds.

  4. Add another tablespoon of canola oil and the cooked longevity noodles. Gently stir-fry with chopsticks for an additional 30 seconds, making sure to not break the noodles.

  5. Pour in the sauce and stir-fry until the noodles are fully coated. Add more oil if needed and salt and white pepper to taste.

  6. Serve immediately. Happy new year!

*Note: The amount of cannabis oil specified in this recipe is a very loose suggestion; the actual amount you use should be modified based on the strength of your oil and the potency you desire. Dosing homemade edibles can be tricky, so the best way to test for potency is to start with one portion of a serving, in this case, one teaspoon, and wait one to two hours, then make an informed decision on whether to consume more. Always dose carefully and listen to your body, and never drive under the influence of cannabis.
